Subject: Greetings......my name is Gregg

My name is Gregg Ragle and I live in New Richmond, Ohio. I just got a
book to start studying to get my ticket, I have put it off for a couple
years and it's something I'd like to try. I am an avid scanner/
shortwave and BCB dxer, especially monitoring you hams on my receivers.
I have a small/big problem that I hoped you could help me with or at
least direct me to the proper person, short of just knocking on doors
that have antennas set up in their yards I know of no other way for my
problem. :-)

My main two receivers for years have been my Hammarlunds, I have the HQ
129X with the Heathkit Q-Multiplier and the HQ 140X. I have other modern
receivers but they just aren't the same as spinning the knobs on those
boatanchors. Both of receivers went on the fritz about three years ago
and I just don't have a clue on how to fix them. Would you possibly know
of a skilled ham here in the Cincinnati area that are knowledgeable with
the Hammarlunds? The 129X is my baby and I miss her so much. I run a
couple antennas outside for her, the Alpha Delta sloper and a random
wire. When I dx the BCB (this is her specialty) I have a couple real
nice loops that I use. If you could help me out and steer me in the
right direction I would be forever grateful. :-)

thanks,
gregg
