[OH-KY-IN] [Flying_Pig_hams] Flying Pig Staff meeting report + MORE ham radio volunteers

The BIGGEST note first, then the rest:

- this is a COMPLIMENT and yet a PROBLEM. The Flying Pig staff wants to
cover MORE STUFF with ham radio operators. I couldn't promise that
because we're having a very difficult time staffing to previous
requirements, let alone expanded ones. But it is a compliment to you
and what you can/do provide.

Many of you reading this "don't do public service events". I understand
that, and recognize that you contribute to the hobby in other ways.
Unfortunately, the general public doesn't see those ways, but they DO
SEE THIS. So I'm appealing to the fraternity of ham radio operators
near and far, to once again reconsider this event, what it means to the
metro area and the hobby locally, and contribute a few hours to a
worthwhile cause.

Even if this type of thing isn't for you -- if you know someone for whom
it might be, PLEASE FORWARD.

REMINDER: The Flying Pig Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Relay takes
flight at 630am on Sunday, May 6, 2007. More volunteers are needed, and
some information has been updated.

Remember that general event information is available at:

tonight's meeting notes:

- "med tents" will be at miles 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, and 24 and the
locations will be clearly noted on the zone maps
- all volunteers (including all of you) are entered in a drawing for a
$2600 "scooter", complete with Flying Pig logo + helmet. This is like a
Segue but can move much faster!
- parking in the finish area is limited again. I have about 16 passes.
If anyone working at finish can carpool (make a new friend!) please do
so and let me know about it!
- We should (finally) have the "Info Pig FAQ" out to you before the
event, because we know you will all get questions...
