Subject: [mvarbb] Reminder: Microwave get-together this Saturday
 
The Mid-America Microwave Society will hold an informal get-together  
11-August-2007 beginning around noon at the former Voice of America  
Bethany Relay station near Cincinnati.  There will be demonstrations  
of Amateur microwave gear of all kinds as well as a 25' parabolic  
dish antenna doing 10 GHz earth-moon-earth communications with 4  
watts of power!  Anyone interested in Amateur Radio microwave  
operations is more than welcome to attend.
 
In addition to the microwave activities, the VOA transmitter building  
will be open for informal tours.  See a 250kW shortwave transmitter,  
4CV100,000 tubes, and the Gray History of Wireless museum of antique  
radio gear.
 
The Bethany station is the home of the West Chester Amateur Radio  
Association, WC8VOA, and is located at 8070 Tylersville Road, West  
Chester, Ohio 45069.  It is one mile East of I-75 at exit 22.
